The Plett MAD Festival 2015
A triple-themed festival (music, art, drama) currently being held at different locations in Plett. The festival includes street theatre, art exhibitions, a Food Film Festival and the Fringe Festival. This melting pot of cultural and artistic experiences is set to be a real treat! Have a look at the full MAD Festival Calendar for a schedule of events. The Plett Food Film Festival
The White House Theatre plays host to ‘Delicious film | Compelling food‘. This three-day event consists of classic food films and world cuisine. Beautiful Cake Exhibition at Old Nick Village
Come and eat cake at the Old Nick Village. Indulge in a stunning exhibition and tasting of Mamie Brougitte’s scruptuous naked cakes. Naked cakes are fast becoming a favourite for their rustic appearance and sophisticated appeal. When: Wednesday, the 8th of July, from 10am – 2pm at the Old Nick Village in Plettenberg Bay. Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival ‘Flavours of Knysna’
Of all the things to do in Knysna this month, the following festivals should not be missed. These events prove extremely popular every July. If you have a palate for Oysters, do not miss this Knysna Oyster Festival event. Restaurants in and around Knysna and Sedgefield compete (for one night only) for the title of ‘Best Dressed Oyster’ and ‘Best Dressed Stand’. Receive a booklet of coupons that can then be traded for tastings at each stand between 6pm and 8:30pm. Cape and Regional wines will also be available for tasting as well as a Tabasco inspired 3-course taster menu. When: 8th July 2015, Festival Pavillion, Knysna. Tickets are R175 per person. Knysna Forest Marathon & Half Marathon
Although entries are fully booked, this is still a great opportunity to show support for those participants taking part in the 42.2km full marathon or the 21.1km half-marathon. This is a favourite on the running calendar, so to be a spectator is a fabulous experience. There is a 5km fun run that is still available for registration.
