“We had an absolutely amazing trip to Knysna and Villa seaview which is a stunning property with spectacular view of the ocean . The house was extremely well appointed with everything we needed. The balconies were amazing and the fact that every bedroom has floor to ceiling windows gave the house wonderfully light and bright feel as did the open plan kitchen and dining room. The en-suites were also a bonus. Knysna is a great place to visit and we particularly loved visiting the elephants at the Knysna elephant sanctuary as well as the beautiful local local beaches. The highest possible rating is given to this house! The house & decor are so beautiful, complimented by the full length foldable glass doors in each room facing the ocean. The house is enormous & can easily fit multiple families. There were so many surprise features that added to our enjoyment of our stay - ice-maker; wine fridge; 2 refrigerators; outdoor showers; yoga deck in the fynbos; boogie boards; beach toys; fire pit etc. The location of Keurbooms is so perfect as it is outside the hustle & bustle of Plett, but so close to access all the restaurants & activities and a short drive up in Tsitsikamma wineries & forest adventures, etc. The beach in front of the house is too beautiful & so private. It is a very short 1 minute, walk down the lighted wooden pathway from the house to the beach. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will be back - Krista van Zyl.

Beachscape villa is outstanding with breathtaking views to the ocean from almost every room. We felt at home at once and enjoyed the amenities of the villa very much. We appreciate the modern style of the house, which is meticiously decorated and fully equipped with state-of-the-art kitchen and the safe neighbourhood. The beach is wonderful, the Plett area very nice with good restaurants and wine estates. We recommend Beachscape strongly to families and will certainly return. "My husband and I spent 3 amazing days at Craighross in September.  Given that it was winter, we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves, and while the ocean was chilly, the lagoon just next to us was perfect for a swim.  From the front deck, we could see pods of Bryde’s whales in the ocean while enjoying a braai and glass of wine.  At night, the fires inside the house kept us warm over games (well-stocked in the house!), books and conversation.  We had made plans to spend our days visiting local attractions and towns, but once we got to Craighross we found it very hard to leave!  There are also tons of things to do nearby, from hiking along the beach to gathering mussels and oysters in the ocean.  Inside the house, there is everything you could ask for, decorated in a beachy, bright style.  The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware, glasses, etc., and our maid Constance was incredibly helpful.  This is an absolutely magical home, perfect for small or large groups, and situated in one of the most beautiful locations in the world." Emily Walsh

Craighross Castle is without a doubt one of the most special places we have ever stayed. What a privilege it was to have such spacious well appointed accommodation in such a unique and stunningly beautiful location. While we were there the entire Noetzie beach was ours, and ours alone for most of the day, and totally deserted from after 5pm until mid morning (apart from a couple of residents in the handful of other beachfront castles and holiday homes). We were also treated to a magical phospho-luminescence light show in the breaking waves every evening, and one evening we took the kids down to the beach and traced luminescent footsteps in the wet sand!!
We were also treated to unbelievably crystal clear night skies with the Milky Way in all its glory ...the type of night skies you would expect only to see from a remote high mountain top!
The lagoon was also lovely and warm for swimming, floating on your back with castles looming up above you, evoking thoughts of Scottish lochs.

All in all an escape to paradise really.

The accommodation at Craighross was as advertised, spacious, luxurious and well appointed, with huge terraces on the top two floors looking out at postcard-perfect views of Noetzie beach and the sea.

Hadley was very helpful and always available and responsive on Whats-App when we had queries.

We would thoroughly recommend Craighross to anyone who appreciates a holiday away from the crowds with nature's beauty at its very best right on your doorstep. - Mike Hallauer

The house itself is charming and the position and views spectacular.

The house is obviously well loved and this was apparent in the layout and attention to detail.

Miriam [maid] is an absolute gem and was almost kidnapped by one of our guests!

We were grateful for the ample wood pile and many hours were spent lounging around enjoying the view and relaxing in the warm living area.

The beds were comfortable and appreciated.

Our stay was splendid and we will most certainly return with families in tow.

We really enjoyed our time at your luxury apartment, even though we looked at your reviews and pictures before arrival we found your place to be better than expected, all the rooms were comfortable and the apartment was very spacious and as there were 6 of us we never got in each others way.

Stayed here for a week in peak season 2013. It's a nice house, the sun deck with little pool is pretty awesome. We enjoyed the large kitchen/dining room area and the rooms are all spacious and decorated well. A few cons were: no wifi, slightly dirty floor when we checked in, driveway is very steep and the jacuzzi is a terrible waste of a good room. Overall a great stay though!

We had such a wonderful stay at Cliff House. Our friends who were with us from England though it looked brilliant on the photo’s when I suggested Cliff House as our holiday rental and to be honest my friends and my family were so impressed and quite frankly the house looked as good if not better than the photo’s.

Living in the house was easy as it is such a well appointed home with very classy deco and with every home comfort one could need. The quality of the bath, pool towels and linen were excellent and extras were there if needed.

Cliff House gave us all the feeling - that one can truly feel the sense of a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, with the most wonderful and stunning views virtually all around, the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks an open bright and sunny home with loads of interesting spaces both in the home and out in the garden.

The house was immaculately clean and we had Carol everyday and that was fabulous. Carol is very pleasant and she worked and ironed very well.

We would highly recommend to others to have Carol every day.

Our only slight downside was that the pool was too cold to swim in, such an beautiful, huge and inviting pool but only good to look at. Still a great sight..

The Jacuzzi although solar heated also didn’t truly get to a comfortable temperature to enjoy.

We enjoyed Knysna and surrounding areas, truly beautiful to see, manny lovely restaurants in the area, great beaches, close to the airport, so all in all we all had a most amazing holiday in the comforts of Cliff House.

We would not hesitate to book Cliff House again and we thank all the very helpful folk at Dav1es.

We had a fabulous time! I normally don’t re-visit places because we always want to stay somewhere new, however Lindsay Castle will definitely be an exception. My only complaint is that we did not stay long enough!

After a few hectic days touring the southern Cape and after a three-day safari,  we arrived to Craighross Castle with the intention of continuing our go-go-go pace but once we saw the breathtaking beach, the lazy lagoon and the stunning accommodation we had to rethink...sitting on a lounge chair with a chilled glass of something and taking it all in...going to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves as the tides changed.  We did make the trek up the 138 stairs...and then found out that for those of us wanting a little bit of a lazier route we could walk across the beach and up a little pathway to a lower driveway area - perfect!  The Castle is situated near enough to Knysna or Plettenberg Bay so if we wanted to get up and go we could.  We hired a driver to take us to the Knysna Elephant Reserve, went to Zinzi for dinner (twice!  that good!) but preferred to hang around the stunning accommodation.   

The living/dining/kitchen area and the many bedrooms with ensuites could easily handle a crowd larger that the five of us but it was cosy enough that we didn't feel like it was too big.

We decided to hire a chef to fill our fridge with food and drink and to come in and make us dinner on three of the nights.  The Castle's property manager, Richard Davies, was able to find us an excellent chef - Rhys Miller of Heath Cafe - who took the time to find out our likes/dislikes - even found the hard to source Limes for G&Ts!  Fortunately for us, the property also came with a maid who tidied up after Rhys's gourmet meals and we were able to stay on vacation mode - no cooking/no dishes!  The maid also did the housekeeping, made the beds and did laundry when requested.

If only it wasn't so far from Toronto...

Where should I start?

I am blown away and the guests were as well. What a spot, what an epic view and what an accommodation which is put together with love, care and detail. We fully enjoyed our stay and it was hard to convince the guests that we have to leave!!!

To sum up:

Brilliant, already spoke to the head office and we will keep you very high in the books of suppliers, also when we get international business guests! The maid was excellent as well and there is not much more to say!

Absolutely excellent! Thank you very much for an unforgetable stay!

We chose Craighross castle for a reunion of our international family. There were fourteen of us and we stayed for a week. The location is easily the most beautiful place we have ever seen: lush, unspoilt forest on one side and wide sandy shore of the Indian Ocean on the other - absolutely stunning!

We had lots of plans of exploring the area and going to far away places like Cango Caves but once we got to the castle nobody wanted to leave and go anywhere else. There was something to do for everyone: younger children spent days on the beach digging and exploring, parents sunbathed or went for long jogs along the ocean line, grandparents spent time on the magnificent veranda enjoying the view.

The beach was deserted apart from an occasional couple or two and yet we felt completely safe. All of us came from various big cities and spending 7 days surrounded by natural beauty was incredibly therapeutic. The castle itself is very tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. In the evenings we all gathered in front of the fire in a beautiful living room and played games.

Being in close proximity to the ocean, the castle can feel a bit damp in the evenings but the easy to use gas fireplaces really helped. The management company were very friendly and efficient: all our luggage was transported from and to the cars, beds were moved to accommodate younger children, maintenance issues promptly attended too. Overall it was an unforgettable experience.
