Spicy Honey Chicken & Pineapple Sosaties

These killer sosaties are sweet, spicy and is perfect eaten hot, straight off the grill.

Ingredients

Spicy Honey Sauce
125ml tomato sauce
60ml honey
10 – 15ml chipotle paste (or your favourite hot sauce)
60ml brown sugar
15ml Worcestershire sauce
10 ml apple cider vinegar
2.5 ml ground garlic
2.5 ml ground black pepper

Sosaties
700 g boneless and skinless chicken thighs
24 chopped pineapple chunks (fresh or tinned will work)

kebab sticks, (halved if you are making mini sosaties) and soaked in water

Method

Spicy Honey Sauce

  • Place a small saucepan over low heat. Add all of the ingredients and stir to combine. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce has thickened.

Sosaties

  • Cut the thighs into bite-size chunks.
  • Skewer chicken pieces onto the kebab sticks, alternating with pineapple chunks.
  • Brush with spicy honey sauce and braai over medium heat coals for 10 minutes. Remember to baste as you turn. Once cooked, remove from the braai and enjoy!
