Here are some of our favorite outdoor adventure activities you could experience whilst visiting the Garden Route.
Obstacle Courses
Acro-branch is a unique treetop experience where your challenge is to overcome various obstacles whilst swinging from tree to tree through the forest canopy. Obstacles consist of tricky tree-top crossings made of ladders, ropes, tunnels, walkways and bridges. They have a course for kids and for reasonably fit adults and teenagers making it a great adventure activity the whole family can enjoy.

Blokart Sailing
Head on down to Buffalo Bay beach and try Blokart for a thrilling land-sailing experience. A Blokart is a type of land yacht, comprising of a light and compact three wheeled buggy, a mast and sail. Harness the power of the wind and speed along the white sands of Buffalo Bay beach. Unlike kiteboarding or windsurfing, after 5 minutes of briefing on controls and safety, you can be on your way.

Bungee Jumping
Bloukrans Bungy, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the highest Bungy Jump from a bridge in the world, is a “must do” experience if you are an adrenaline junkie! You zipline to the platform from which you jump and then catch a winch ride back to the bridge where you walk the length of the suspended skywalk back to safe footings. If you don’t want to bungy, but still want to experience the view, you can do the skywalk on its own.

Blackwater Tubing Tsitsikamma
Tubing down the Storms River is THE original experience that “started” the adventure scene in the Tsitsikamma. some 50 years ago. The Storms River Gorge was set as one of the first iconic adventure attractions on the Garden Route. Glide along the Storms river on a one-man inflatable river tube that lets you experience all the natural wonders of this area – the pristine forests, rivers and coastline.

Canopy Tour
Another great treetop adventure is the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours. Zipline through the forest from platform to platform high above the forest floor. Some of the platforms that connect the lines are built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are up to 700 years old! If you are lucky, you might spot a pair of Knysna Loeries or the brightly coloured elusive Narina Trogon.

Knysna ziplines
Knysna Zipline takes in the incredible natural beauty of the Kranshoek Sanparks picnic site. The ziplines are some of the longest you will experience and definitely not for someone with a fear of heights. Extremely long cables crisscross the gorge at the picnic site and with heights of +- 200 meters it will certainly be a memorable experience.
