There are numerous restaurants, supermarkets and shops in the Knysna waterfront, quays and town centre less than a 10 minute drive away. Knysna and nearby Plettenberg Bay offer excellent opportunities for all manner of outdoor pursuits.

Terms and Conditions

1. A 30% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure all bookings.

2. Full payment must be received by us at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.

3. The 30% security deposit will be returned within 30 days of the end of the booking. Guests should leave the accommodation as they found it in a tidy and orderly fashion and are liable for breakages and damage caused during their stay including but not restricted to the value of the breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations up to 14 days prior to booking 50% [of the 70% balance payment] will be refunded.

The Light House is a property that sits in total harmony with the surrounding natural environment.

The beautiful views stretching out into the distance deserve to be fully appreciated and the house was designed to enable guests to really enjoy every angle as far as the eye can see.

The many large glass windows and doors compliment this and, on warm days, internal spaces can be opened up to the elements making this truly a house of light.

The architect has also incorporated many individual internal gardens and private walled courtyards that bring nature directly into the home and living experience.

An entertainers dream house

The Light House is spacious yet full of intimate areas where individuals or groups can celebrate the beauty of the natural environment or be at peace in calm and private spaces.

On many different levels this house boasts meticulous design, comfort, luxurious fittings and fixtures. Each individual space cleverly meets the other and the effect is a very subtle combination of light, textures and colours.

Upon entering via the main door you enter a vestibule with water feature and the most amazing panoramic view south across the Knysna River and distant hills.

This space incorporates the open plan dining and kitchen areas with huge glass doors and panels that open directly onto the terrace and large swimming pool. The kitchen is very well equipped and has several islands including a breakfast bar. There is also a separate island with hot plate, wine cooler, integral wine rack and gas fireplace.

The kitchen is served by a spacious scullery complete with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, utility sink and plenty of storage. The scullery is connected to a large double garage with room for 2 vehicles plus bikes. There is a utility courtyard beyond the scullery with gas and waste storage areas, drying facilities and a gate to the front of the house.

Moving through the kitchen and a short passageway you enter the large TV lounge and then into a corridor serving Bedrooms 1 & 2. Both bedrooms have ample cupboard storage plus en-suite shower-room facilities.

On the opposite side of the house – moving from the entrance hallway and passing the internal water feature – is the comfortable bedroom 3 [children’s room] complete with shower-room.

Continuing down some steps off the entrance area you find yourself in the very comfortable second lounge with direct access to the gardens and balcony looking over the Simola golf course. This room boasts comfortable seating for 6 guests and a gas fireplace.

Off this room you can either go down another flight of steps to bedroom 4 or across a wooden walkway to the Master Bedroom.

The Master Suite is fully self-contained and comprises a king size bed complete with integral TV unit, a large dressing area with built in double vanity basins, stylish bath and shower room and separate cloakroom. This suite also has a balcony to the south and a large but very private courtyard to the West.

Bedroom 4 is a fully self-contained suite with king size bed, ample dressing space, another south facing external balcony, en-suite shower and bathroom with twin vanity units plus separate

With extensive indigenous gardens across the front of the house and many private courtyards and balconies surrounding the property the “WOW” factor is experienced when you move to the pool-side.

This space is also surrounded by carefully designed gardens and is complimented by a large external but covered braai and entertaining area complete with gas braai, extractor and comfortable dining for 10 persons.

There are lawns surrounding the south side of the property which are bordered by natural vegetation. The house has sun loungers, chairs and tables for the many outdoor spaces.
