1 Riverclub sits amongst trees and indigenous spaces and is very private. From its elevated position it has a view stretching all the way down the Knysna River and valley below.

Safety and Security

In keeping with the objective to make life at the Simola Golf & Country Estate as relaxing and carefree as possible, the Estate rules relate primarily to safety, security, privacy and the protection of the environment. The elevation of the Estate affords it a great deal of natural security and privacy, which is reinforced by 24-hour permanent manned access control at all entrances. Home owners can walk, jog or cycle around the estate in safety. Children can play happily outdoors.

Located in the hills above Knysna, the Simola 5-star Hotel has a spa, swimming pools and a restaurant with lagoon views.

The Simola Spa features face and body treatments performed with Africology spa products. Guests can also work out at the gym which overlooks the Knysna Heads and offers state-of-the-art equipment and personal trainers. The à la carte Orchard Room serves international cuisine, while the Country Club’s sushi bar offers Japanese dishes, including Teppanyaki. Guests can enjoy refreshing drinks at Sir Roy’s Bar.

The Simola Golf Course is a designer course by Jack Nicklaus with spectacular views and the added-benefit of being sheltered from winds – which plague other golf courses in the area. The 18 hole golf course features a club house, pro shop, putting greens and a driving range. Sport and Leisure

In addition to being located near to the Simola Golf Course and other Estate leisure services 1 Riverclub is also within easy reach of many other local golf facilities; Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Goose Valley, George & Mossel Bay.

Guests can enjoy long, challenging walks through the estate and there are numerous hiking and biking trails nearby running through pine plantations and an Afromontane forest populated with many animal and bird species.

The area boasts sailing, kayaking, surfing, fishing, quad biking, horse riding & paragliding amongst the leisure attractions. For beach-lovers the sweeping beaches of Buffels Bay are within easy reach too and Knysna Lagoon is a short drive away.

Hiking, mountain & quad biking, horse riding & paragliding are all available in the Knysna area.

Rates are on average 40% less for stays completed before 12th December!

Minimum stays: 3 nights in Low Season, 5 nights in High Season and 7 nights in Peak Season. If your booking is for fewer nights, then you will be quoted for the minimum.

Terms and Conditions

1. A 30% non-refundable deposit will be required to secure all bookings.

2. Full payment must be received by us at least 4 weeks prior to arrival.

3. The 30% security deposit will be returned within 30 days of the end of the booking. Customers should leave the accommodation as they found it in a tidy and orderly fashion and are liable for breakages and damage caused during their stay including but not restricted to the value of the breakage deposit.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations up to 14 days prior to booking 50% of the booking fee will be refunded.

Large, luxurious and beautifully appointed

Accommodation at the house is available on two levels; there is one King bedroom with en-suite on the top floor with 3 further bedrooms [again all with en-suite facilities] on the lower floor.

Both levels are linked via an internal staircase. Both floors have their own individual access doors.

Both floors boast large lounge areas and kitchen facilities.

All finishings and fittings at the house are of the highest quality and blend together to compliment this truly magnificent and luxurious holiday home.

Everything for everyone

You enter the top floor via an unassuming front door close to the estate road and find yourself immediately in a long, brick vaulted vestibule which opens up into the huge living areas. This corridor also gives access to a full double-volume garage with ample space for 2 vehicles and a guest cloakroom.

To the right is the general living area comprising a large and very comfortable lounge with vaulted timber ceiling off a very spacious kitchen / dining area with separate full bar. Adjacent to the kitchen is a separate scullery with outside service courtyard.

Stacking doors from the lounge open up onto a large deck / balcony which serves the entire s/w side of the property. Deck furniture and a gas braai are located in this area.

From the lounge you pass through to the very large Bedroom 1 [King bed] and en-suite facilities. This area has ample cupboard space, a dressing table and en-suite shower room. This room has it’s own access onto the large sun terrace.

You enter the lower floor either by the interconnecting staircase or by using the main door opposite the lower garage area. Both options take you immediately into a corridor that connects to two of the three bedrooms on this floor and into the general living area.

This is a very large and comfy living room which adjoins an open-plan kitchen space complete with Linen and Storage rooms. There is access through to the lower garage area. Stacking doors of the living space again give access to the very spacious stoep outside which also features a family swimming pool / plunge pool built into the deck.

Off the main living area is Bedroom 2 [King] which again has ample cupboard space together with a dressing table and en-site shower room. This bedroom has direct access out onto a North facing sun terrace.

2 further bedrooms; Bedroom 3 [King] and Bedroom 4 [1 x double + 1 x single complete the accommodation – both rooms are large with plenty of cupboard space, en-suite shower rooms and direct access to the external sun terrace.
